Penang Makan2 Exploration 2

The second day of Makan2 in Penang was rather interesting too.. we went to Penang to get the taste of the island's delicacy.. First stop for lunch.. Biryani Hameediah..
This is the most famous biryani in Penang.. the talk of the town.. and it's been in existence for more than 20 years alreday.. simply said, one's visit will not be complete without having Hameediah Biryani.. It's located in the middle of the downtown, but I can't remember the street..The restaurant..The crowd, full house during lunch.. daily, without fail.. The lunch set..The special-made yummy biryani.. The superb Daging Merah.. a must to take with the biryani.. Complete with the Dalca gravy.. and cucumber pickles..Simply perfect combination with perfect taste.. A must go place to get the biryani in Penang.. One of its kind!
Went to Queensbay Mall to ease up the full stomach.. and trying to get ready with the snack and dinner later.. hehehe! The scenery here is sooooo beautiful..The snack.. Ice cream in bread!
What's for snack? Instead of proper tea, we decided to go for a famous bread Ice Cream at the Botanical Garden.. You can find the uncle with his motor selling ice cream right iin front of the Botanical Garden.. wouldn't be hard to find him, eh? Yummy! Yummy! That's all I can say! Heheh! Better get myself prepared for dinner..
Dinner - Hawker Stall Gurney Drive
Since I had very heavy lunch and rather fulfiling snack, dinner is gonna be a light one.. the ever famous Assam Laksa in Gurney Drive..I blogged about it before.. and here it is again.. Simply worth it! That's the end of my Makan2 exploration in Penang.. simply worth the trip.. I'm happy.. and it's time to start to go back on diet again... heheheh!

Penang trip and Makan2 exploration

I'm in Penang now. I came here by bus last nite and arrived here at 6am.. very early in the morning. This is the Makan2 mission.. to explore more Makan places in Penang and lepak2 with my cousins. What's Penang if not for Nasi Kandar.. the specialty in Penang.. so check out the updates on my makan trip?
Lunch - Kassim Mustafa Restaurant
The specialty is the rice here is something like nasi minyak.. not the normal plain white rice elsewhere..
The best thing about this restaurant is the telur sotong (squid eggs).. it's their specialty.. only in mamak in Penang.. you can't find it anywhere else..Location? In Seberang Jaya, the shop lots in front of Billion Supermarket..

Dinner - Restoran Ikan Bawal Goreng
Very simple! Very nice! Superb taste! This simple concept of plain rice with Bawal Goreng is well known in Penang.. but not in KL I guess.. Location? In Bandar Perda, the food stall right in front of Petronas Gas Station within Bandar Perda. Fried Ikan Bawal (Pompret fish) with soy sauce.. Fried Chicken.. with soy sauce.. Sambal Belacan..Curry gravy!
That's my first day of my Makan exploration.. one thing for sure is my diet planning is wasted, but with this good food.. there's nothing to regret off.. Checkout my 2nd day of the Makan exploration..

Movies => Flood

Not many choices of new movies in the list.. I think I've watched almost all of the movie in the list already.. heheh! So.. with not that many choice I have left, I decided to watch Flood.. I think it was the movie from last year, but only shown here this year..Synopsis:
A storm and the year's highest tide combine to give London a bath in this soggy disaster yarn starring Robert Carlyle, Tom Courtenay, Joanne Whalley and David Suchet*** Boring!!! I felt asleep during the movie.. The plot is so boring.. the actors are so cheapo, I donno where they got these actors.. and the suspense scenes that they wanna develop are so unconstant, it turned out to be a funny movie.. so, when I'm not sleeping, I'm either smiling or laughing.. hahahah! I guess the only thing this film can take credit is their cgi techniques of the flood overtakes London.. that looks real!

The Sale and a New pair of Shoes

I've been surveying around for a new pair of shoes, but didn't find one that I really like, until today.. Went to Midvalley after work today for my Wednesday Movie.. The sale in still on in Metrojaya.. and as I was browsing around the gents department, I finally found a nice pair of shoes I've been searching for.. ..nice color, nice design.. and fits me very well.. Just like it! and I'm gonna wear it to work tomorrow.. Yahooo!

The Faulty Bank Card

Today is the pay day.. but unfortunately my bank card got blocked... I really need to take out my money from the ATM.. but it turned out that the transactions were all rejected.. tried different branches as well, same results.. asking me to contact the customer service number for verification. Unfortunately when I called them, they said that the card is fine and not blocked or such. Tried again and still the same message came out.. AArrgghhhh!! Just don't understand why! I need to go to the nearest branch ASAP.. and ended up going to Maybank brach in USJ Taipan to change the old rubbish faulty card to the new one.. Heheh! Surprisingly, the process of getting the new card was so fast and I got my card within 10 minutes only.. Thanks to the staff of Maybank Taipan USJ! I'm relieved now.. if not for the new card, no money for today.. Hahahah!

The Best Nasi Lemak In Town

Tired! I'm still exhausted from the concert last nite.. Anyway, the whole day today spent at the gym and Starbucks.. updating blog and settling my blueprint document that is still not done.. I'm sick of doing it already, but then again, work is still work.. and I hafta make the best of it.. Anyway, I immediately stopped doing my work by dawn, that is before I end up sleeping there.. Heheh! Time to go for my dinner, since I skipped lunch and had only a simple breakfast.
So I stopped by a stall complex behind Bangsar Village to have their Nasi lemak. The place is called Cafe Utara Kamal, situated in the middle area of the stall complex. The Nasi Lemak is the best I've ever tasted so far. It's just like having the Nasi Lemak at home, home made cooking.. The aroma of the fragrant rice is just enough for people to stop at their stall. Got myself a big piece of fried chicken and the egg as well. Complete with kangkung and ikan bilis, added with the nicest superb taste of the spicy gravy makes it just perfect.. All at RM5 per plate.. Quite cheap eh? There's a busy Night Market during our makan time, but it won't affect my concentration towards the nasi lemak.. A must try place to get Nasi Lemak in town..

F1 Concert @ Bukit Bintang

It's now really havoc in KL with F1 race and the beautiful KL city is transformed into a city full of many activities, parties and celebrations. I happened to be in Bukit Bintang area just now and was made known that there will be a big concert organized by ING in conjuction of F1 weekend.. in front of Maybank. The road is cramped with cars, and there are so many people around.. walking around the area.. and at 8pm sharp.. the concert starts..
Lots and alots of the popular singers joined the crowd for this concert.. locals.. and also international!Ning started the heat with her many numbers of new and old songs.. she is an absolutely marvelous singer with a very unique and beautiful voice.. She sang her heart out, interacts with the audience well, she nailed down each and every song she sang and the most important thing is she enjoyed the moments with the crowd.. Cool entertainer I can say..
Ferhad is up next.. singing his very own songs.. ..he sang so beautifully perfect with his small high pitch voice that I guess pretty much entertained the crowds. He is quite a good entertainer also I can say as he interacts well with the audinece.. and his number of songs sang are very entertaining..
Next.. their artist of the night, All-4-One is up for their show.. The crowds were screaming histerically as they came out.. and as they started singing.. They are a big name in the industry.. but has long been forgotten I guess.. heheh! But one thing for sure, I still can connect to them as I grew up with their songs.. the ever famous ones like I Swear, Won't Let Your Heart Break and a few other familiar songs.. They have been long forgotten in USA i guess, so their strategy is to promote thier songs in Asia, which turned out to be a success.. People here still can accept these kind of songs.. Enjoyed most of the songs anyway.. and decided to go back after that as I can't stand up in the crowd any longer.. The smell of sweat and the heat made me dizzy already.. A few other artists like Reshmonu and others were scheduled to perform too, but I don't wanna wait some more and made a quiet exit as soon as possible..
p/s: I will add more movie clips of the performance as soon as I transform the files that I got into the viewable clips..
