SUKMA 2008 - Aquatic

The first day of SUKMA after the opening ceremony seemed to be very busy with activities.. One of the main attraction was Aquatic held on this first day.. at a newly completed Aquatic stadium in Batu Buruk Beach. Really big stadium and nice with full facilities.. This was when they had the qualifying round before those qualified compete for the semi and finals.. Lots of people were seated in the stadium that there was no empty seat already..and I see quite a number of Ganu people attended this event as there is a young star from Ganu they hope will win the gold medal. Who? Some young chap I don't even know what the name is.. heheh! I'm looking forward for rugby this coming weekend...

SUKMA 2008.. and The New Gong Badak Stadium

Kuala Terengganu is so jammed up with cars.. simply because of SUKMA 2008.. another big sports event that is held in the newly completed stadium in Gong Badak area.. SUKAM means Sukan Malaysia or Malaysian Sports.. is one of the biggest sports event in Malaysia..
Since I still haven't seen how the new controversial political stadium looks like.. I took a ride.. beating in between the busy traffic of Kuala Terengganu.. From far, I can already see the two main stadiums are so nicely build.. that it stands proud for SUKMA this year in Ganu.. The closed stadium looks like the UFO from far.. while the main stadium is so nicely architectured it looks marvelous in the photos.. from far and up-close.. Today is the opening ceremony and there are people everywhere rehearsing and some events even started already at the close stadium.. I won't bother parking as the crowds were building up and we need to get out from the pace the soonest possible.. Nevertheless.. nice stadium for Terengganu.. and hope SUKMA will be held here successfully..

MU vs. Chelsea finale

Did anybody not watch last nite’s games between MU and Chelsea? I bet most of us did.. the heat is on.. the radios were heating up with all those game’s prediction and opinions and feedback on what’s their predictions and stuff.. I decided to watch the game at Hartamas Square.. with the rest of others.. and I guess this is when you got all the spirits for the game and all..I didn’t manage to get the photos there as my phone is out of battery and so does my friends’ phones.. what a coincidence kan.. That’s ok though.. I’m neither gonna comment on how they played nor say bad things about MU.. just to share how celebrative the environment was in Sri Hartamas last nite..
And as predicted.. MU is the Champion’s League Winner 07/08.. MU beats Chelsea 6-5 on penalty kicks to win European soccer's Champions League last night.. Congratulations to MU on the victory! Anyway.. I’m not that die-hard football fan.. but I surely think that Chelsea played better last night.. and the winning team won simply because of the situation, and luck.. heheheh! Sorry MU fans! heheh! Enjoyed most of the games though.. (Photos courtesy of www.manutd.com)

Mr. Klang Parade 2008

I am now in Old Town Cafe, Klang Parade.. writing this entry while attending the Bodybuilding Contest currently held here. It is a yearly event for Mr Klang Parade event.. and this markes one of the few first competitions for the local bodybuilers to compete, before the next big competitions scheduled in the 3rd quarter this year.. like Mr Selangor, Mr. KL and Mr. Malaysia...
You can see those contestants backstage.. preparing themselves for the stage.. and some personal poses that we managed to snap during the competition..The guy's name is Ubai.. he is one of the winner of this competition.. nice body definition, eh? I used to do weight lifting quite some time ago.. for fun only... until when my arm is broken, I have no choice than to stay staill and forget about weight lifting and stiuff for at least 1.5 years.. at least that's what advised by doctors.. or I won't be able to recover..
Nice pose of the bodybuilder..So jealous and really envy those beautiful bodies that these bodybuilders shown here.. and I do hope to start back with my gym soon.. and redo back all my routines and stuff..

TOW Rugby - England vs. Tonga

I planned to watch England vs. Tonga match on Saturday. Unfortunately just about the game to start, I fall asleep, living the TV to watch me sleeping instead. Hehehe!!
So this is a result of the game.
ENGLAND 36 - TONGA 20
England was in white jersey while Tonga was the men in red. News on the game…
England into last eight
PARIS, 28 September – England have booked themselves a quarter-final showdown with Australia after eventually subduing a strong Tonga challenge 36-20 in the crucial Pool A match on Friday.
Four tries, including a double from flying wing Paul Sackey, plus two conversions, two penalties and two drop goals – all from the boot of Jonny Wilkinson - set up the England victory.Tonga battled gamely to overcome the half-time deficit, with fly half Pierre Hola adding a penalty, but England always looked to have their measure in the winner-take-all encounter on a greasy Parc des Princes pitch.
Early on it was Tonga who brought the red-clad faithful in the crowd to their feet when outside centre Sukanaivalu Hufanga stormed onto a beautiful ball from Epeli Taione and stepped through three would-be tacklers to score under the posts for a brilliant individual try in the 18th minute.
No sooner had Hola added the extras than his England opposite Wilkinson, in a moment of pure inspiration, elected to punt a penalty wide rather than go for the three points and a marauding Sackey took the high ball on the fly and just managed to ground it before the dead-ball line for an audacious try.
Wilkinson could not convert from wide out but the brilliant play served to ignite England's attacking fires and they camped in their opponents' 22 for the next 10 minutes. Wilkinson made the most of the pressure with a drop goal - his seventh in seven successive world cup matches - in the 32nd minute to give his team the lead for the first time in the match.Outside centre Mathew Tait and replacement back Andy Farrell crossed in the second half as the Tongans, who put up a huge effort in the opening period, began to flag.
In the end England had too much efficiency in the set-piece and polish in their far superior kicking game for the Tongans, who fought to bundle the reigning champs out of the cup right to the end.
Wilkinson gave his team every chance to pile on the pressure with big up-and-under kicks that had the Tongans scrambling in the wet conditions.
Hale T Pole scored a deserved late consolation try for the Tongans, converted from the corner by Hola.
The victory has set up a mouth-watering replay of the epic 2003 world cup final in which England emerged triumphant thanks to Wilkinson's extra-time heroics.

****It is an expected win as England is quite a tough fight. I'm eyeing on who will be the 8 teams in the quarter finals.

TOW IRB Rugby World Cup 2007 @ France.

I slept rather late last night from watching the ‘live’ game on NTV7. It was an awesome game of Samoa vs. USA last night. It has been showing on air for quite a while now, but I haven’t had the time to watch it, as the game is held usually early in the morning (plus I don't have sports channel). Watching the game reminds me of the school time where I was one of the rugby player (rugger) for school. We won a few state titles under 15 and under 17 during those times. We are indeed the rugger of SMSAH!! Yeahaaaa!!(Photos from http://worldcup.planet-rugby.com)
Samoa is playing with the blue jersey while USA in red jersey. In some way, I really enjoyed this game as USA really gave a big fight to Samoa in this game despite the fact that the whole world knows that Samoa is quite a strong team (though this is Samoa’s first win).
The first half of the game displayed the domination of Samoa team, one touch down after another. It is expected as Samoa is one of the strongest team in rugby. Samoa leads with 22 to 3 at the end of first half. However, it all started in second half, where USA sense that they can do this, gave a remarkable fight as they believed that they have the tendency to catch up with Samoa. The game also saw Samoa being a bit inconsistent and undisciplined, playing rough snipping the ball and all. May be the pressure from the first touch down and a few tries by USA in 2nd half of the game changed all. It is somehow amazing looking at the way USA team played last night, considering rugby isn’t their No.1 game in USA. Although they didn’t get the needed points, I think they played consistently in 2nd half and showing a tremendous focuses during the game. Full credit to USA team. Great game… really enjoyed it… especially the 2nd half of the game.
After the full time, Samoa won the game 25 to 21 by USA. Too bad for USA that they hafta go back, but still, you guys rock. Bravo, USA!!!

Next game:
England vs. Tonga

I’ll share with you on the World Cup info and also the rules & regulations of rugby soon.
