THE RAYA DAY...

It's a cliche raya celebration for us almost every year.. I used to celebrate it differently, aka mandi air terjun and all.. but since the patah tangan scene last 3 years.. it's all back to the normal cliche raya again.. how cliche? let's check it out..
so it started with everyone jammed up the road to drive back to their kampung.. in my case.. once i arrived, I needed to help my mom and aunt did some cooking since nobody seemed to care enough to come back on the nite before raya to help with the cooking, in my case until 3am.. I can only see smiles and grinds on the raya morning when everything was ready on the table.. some even had guts to ask what's cooking for raya??? whatever laa...
well.. sembahyang raya in the mosque nearby..
followed by makan2 with the big family with all those fatty rendang, ketupat, lemang and stuff.. and the highlight of the morning event.. acara bersalaman and bermaaf2an with the whole family..and makan again..

hehehhe.. and that's the activities during raya to me.. makin buntal la jawabnya.. hahahha

SELAMAT HARI RAYA..

Open House @ Pak Lang

It was the second raya when everyone started to race over hosting an open house.. and Pak Lang is the one to book us all the families for his open house in Penanti, BM.. so we all convoyed in 8 cars marching to his house.. and one can imagine how full the house was when it comes to the crowd of 8 cars in one house.. meletuppppp! Yess.. I have a big family, and we are all close to each other.. but with the amount of the whole family gathered for raya every year, I don't think simply anyone can tolerate or handle it.. heheheh..
It was like the second gathering of raya with almost complete family gathered here.. what more with fantastic dishes cooked by my cousin Reez who is an expert chef.. from Nasi minyak, traditional Lemang, Rendang and Ketupat to the tasty Mee Udang.. everything was so delicious, we all wallap like nobody's business.. hehehe Here's how it looks like when the whole family gathered.. the house was so packed we all hafta walk around and make ourselves effective.. The second wave of collecting duit raya by the kids was up next.. and I spread the angpow to the rest of my cousins.. which officially made me pokai for the rest of the month.. makan maggi je la jawabnya this month... heheheh!

The Raya Day

It's a must for us all to gather on the first raya with the whole big family. From uncles and aunties to the dozens of cousins, all gathered at my granny's house on the first raya for a family event, shaking hands and ask for forgiveness.. followed by the kids favorite, duit raya giving aka angpow.. Spent quite a lot this year to give the angpow to my parents, granny and all the cousin kids, small and big.. aduiiii... pokai bebb..Just hope that this tradition will still remain in the years to come.. it's the time we all spent together that it precious.. priceless!

Happy Merdeka Day

Happy Merdeka Day to all malaysians.. hope with the matured years of independence, we can increase our unity and aim towards 1Malaysia.. Merdeka..

Happy Ramadhan

Wishing all Muslims a Happy Ramadhan..Hope we get to increase our ibadah this Ramadhan, more of Terawih prayers, and more blessed during the Ramadhan month..

Wishing all Christian friends a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.. It's good to have a long weekend for Christmas to be celebrated by those who celebrates it, and those who don't celebrate it can have a good long weekend balik kampung and stuff..Have a good one, guys...

The Raya Gathering and Doa Selamat

It was the morning of raya, and after the raya prayer, it has been a tradition for our family to gather around and shake hands asking for forgiveness among the families.. followed by angpau giving to those who qualified.. hehe! I know lots of families who doesn't practise the tradition already, in fact some even question why do they have to celebrate raya, which is quite sad because they have lost the meaning of raya as the day given by god to celebrate after a month of puasa.. call me traditional minded or stuff, but I still believe in raya..The photographers were all geared up to take photos, lots of them..Somehow the kids were the happiest one.. you can see it in their eyes..Why? They surely gotta be happy as they will be receiving lots and lots of raya angpau.. and this is the time for them to plan on what they wanna use for their angpau that they have.. heheh!Although there are only 4 families gathered during this raya, you can see the crowd from the photo.. crazy isn't it? Imagine the other 4 families present as the usual raya.. pecah rumah tu.. hehehe! The tradition of shaking hands started with respecting the eldest first, and my one and only granny left sure was the centre of attraction, where my mom leads the team as the eldest of the family to bow and kiss the elders hands, asking for forgiveness, and later followed by angpau giving.. The photo session for the family is next, with the whole family gathered to take photos as a memory of this Raya gathering.. and after all were finished, everybody was easing up themselves for a moment while awaiting for the people from the mosque for the kenduri Doa Selamat.. The Doa Selamat and later makan2.. I'm happy that this was a meaningful raya as we get to gather, celebrate and still remember those who were already gone.. rest in peace.. I thank god for it..!

Nuzul Quran Day.. it's holiday..

It's holiday today.. a celebration of Nuzul Quran day.. Now, what is Nuzul Quran? and why is it celebrated among the muslims around the world? Let's see what it means.
Another word for Nuzul Al-Quran is ‘the revelation of the al-quran’.

NUZUL - means descent or shift, i.e. shift from the top to the ground.

AL-QURAN -Â means reading or collection. it is said to be reading because the al-quran is for reading by humans. it can also be said to be collection because in the al-quran there are verses collected to explain various matters which covers tauhid, ibadat, jinayat, muamalat, munakahat and so on.

Nuzul Al-Quran falls on the 17th day of the Ramadan month (which is today). It was on this day of the Muslim Calendar that the first verse of the Al-Quran was first revealed to Prophet Muhammad, hence the celebration of Nuzul Al-Quran.
