THE KENDURI KORBAN

It was when I reached my granny's house that I knew about the small kenduri for korban to be held by my 2 uncles this year.. This is gonna be a new to me and also the first time for me to check out the whole process from slaughtering the cow until the end.. I'll just upload the photos of the moments..So what is Korban? and why Muslims are encouraged to perform korban as part of the religions obligations? Qurban means sacrifice. The significance of this eid is from the offering of Prophet Abraham(as), who prepared to present his son Ismail(as) to Allah, upon having dream of such a command. He prepared to offer his son, but this was a test from Allah, so before he could slaughter his boy, the angels replaced him with a sacrificing animal. To remember this sacrifice of him we,Muslim who can afford to, make an offering to Allah of an animal. This is called Qurbani. It is not an obligation, but necessarily for all who are earning and have enough money to do it. The meat of the animal should be divided into three portions, of which one third is distributed among the poor, another part among relatives and friends, and the third is consumed in the family. Anyway, my photos during the kenduri disappeared from my phone.. so I won't be able to share with all..

BALIK RAYA...

Not being able to go back to my kampung in Ganu from the flood, I decided to head back to my granny's kampung in Perak.. The traffic jam was crazy last nite.. but driving on the raya day itself, everything seems to be smooth running, except for the jam in Lembah Beringin forcing me to detour to the horrible narrow road leading to federal road.. Passed Ipoh smoothly.. Check out the clouds similar to Dumbo, the Disney cartoon character..
Nice formation ehhh?Reached my granny's kampung at last.. so green, so peaceful.. so mind relaxing.. I'm gonna take a good rest here... peacefully!

JAMBANNNN..

I was in one of the store checking out stuff.. it was a perfectly normal scene.. until I walked further in the store when I saw this scenery... Aiyooo... Baekkkkkk punyaaaa! blinded my eyes for a while.. why laaa! Ladies, check out whenever u wanna squat.. hehehe!

The Genting Escapade

It's Raya Haji tomorrow, and I'm still stuck in KL.. checked out JKR's website, E-Bencana reported that a lot of routes to the east Coast were closed due to the rain pour and flood.. and the crazy jam along the Karak Highway added to the misery.. Imagine the jam right after Gombak Toll until Genting Sempah, and the road sign indicated that the jam remains until Bentong.. just crazy!
So I didn't go back to my kampung.. and with my aunt and family still here in KL, we all decided to go to Genting.. raced thru the jam until Genting Sempah, and slowly climbed the windy roads To GohTong Jaya, where we took the SkyWay up to Genting..SO it wasn't that bad on the hilltop.. as people are so crazy about going back for raya.. leaving us with comfort of getting here and there peacefully..The family got themselves in the park, while me and others went to the mall, hoping to catch a movie or something.. Managed to get into the 'Ninja Assassins' movie, which was really cool (Rain can act maaa..) and spent the rest of the time dining and browsed thru the shops in Genting Mall slowly.. Time managed efficiently, and we covered everything by 8pm..time to go back to KL when the jam to East Coast is getting worse.. and spending my time on the road like that is simply not a good choice to do now.. holding up until tomorrow, shall I go back to my granny's house in Perak? I definitely should...

MAPEX 2009

I was in MV last weekend when MAPEX'09 was held.. and has a chance to check out the houses available for sale.. well.. mostly so crazy expensive.. with the one with not so affordable price flooded almost all the booths inside the hall.. So many people were around filling up the hall fast.. and I noticed something that quite a lot of the potential buyers are the young ones.. and mostly couples.. why do I find myself still can't afford the house?Managed to find one that really attracted my attention, Jade Terrace @ Serdang/ Kajang, but still not within my budget.. keep on dreaming la Mr invisible... Will check out how to maneuver things to be able to get the house.. hehehhe... dream on again!

THE NEW SOFA AND A FEW WALL STICKERS

Yesss... at last I managed to get myself a very simple yet comfortable new sofa for my home.. Nothing special.. only it's really comfortable I can relax on it.. complimented with the wall sticker here and there.. one at the back of the sofa which somehow I felt like it doesn't match the sofa.. but the one near the main door is just lovely..

The Cold and Gloomy Days..

It has been raining quite continuously for the past few days in KL.. and the weather is just lovely.. gloomy and cold.. which is very much related to my mood lately.. personally, I just like it when it's raining.. the smell of the rain is just so refreshing, the looks of the wet green plants are just relaxing, and the cool weather when it rains really wanna make me jump and dance in the rain.. It's just a really good spirit that builds into me when it's raining.. such a positive magnetic charge or something! Yes it's true for some reason that when it rains continuously, it may cause further damages. Heard that there are cases of floods here and there especially in the Northern side and the East Coast.. and in the east Coast flood case, it would be something to celebrate with the rest of the people.. I used to grow up in Terengganu where we can expect Monsoon season starting November every year, followed by the ups and downs of flood, where everyone seems to celebrate by rowing their boats here and there in my kampong... Well, everyone seems to have their own boat, and the perfect timing where school kids were having their long school breaks added up to the enjoyment.. We waited until our parents went to work, and that is when we started playing in the flood, and rowed the boat like nobody's business.. Ahhh.. Such a lovely memory..My kampong house with lots of pillar and 12 stairs will be drowned.. And at some point things went ugly and water level will be rise in the house.. And that is when we have to move out.. I still remembered when we need to move out to a safer place at nite about 9pm.. where the flood reached the dangerous level, and we have to row our boat to my uncle's place.. I was about 10 years old at that time but still remembered when we were about to cross a bridge, the river water seems to be very fast that the boat almost got away.. and me and my dad had to walk across the bridge while holding to the boat with my brother inside.. and the walk and boat rowing continues for abut half and hour when we finally reached my uncle's house.. Well.. it's nothing strange about flood news for those who grew up in the east Coast.. and I'm sure each of every one of them has interesting stories to share about it..
There are some rumors in the email saying that there will be a struck of snow expected in KL tomorrow at 7pm, but I wouldn't take that seriously.. Being in the equator, I wonder how other places will be if there's snow here.. huhh! But it's not impossible, as it will all be the mighty god's plan.. I’ve experienced either those thick covered white snowy day or the extremely cold crystal covered days during my Michigan time, and pretty much enjoyed it to the last bit.. Wonder what will happen if such thing occurs in Malaysia! Must be lots of havoc!
Bottom line is, I really enjoy cold days.. and the days and nights with the current weather lately really suits me, and do hope that it will continuously be like this, may be slightly colder, for a long2 time..
